A specialized real estate degree program is set to be introduced in select UAE universities, offering Emirati students the opportunity to obtain specialized qualifications in this growing industry.
Marwan bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Land Department, said: “We are working with universities to introduce this program exclusively for Emiratis, and details will be announced soon.”
The news was announced during the second edition of “Real Estate Day for Emirati Employment 2024” held today in Dubai. The event aims to empower Emirati citizens and increase their role in the real estate industry.
Vast job opportunities in the real estate industry Bin Ghalita, highlighting the industry’s high capacity, stated: “With over 400 job opportunities announced in just one day, there are ample opportunities in this sector. Emiratis should seize this chance to grow in one of the country’s most dynamic industries and play their part.”
This edition of “Real Estate Day” builds on the success of last year, when over 1,000 Emiratis were employed in the real estate sector. This year, prominent real estate companies have also participated in the event to attract young talent.
Participation of leading companies One of the participating companies, the Emirati firm “Darham,” focuses on empowering Emiratis to succeed in the industry.
Omar Al Shaiba, owner of “Darham,” said: “Our goal is for every Emirati to have an additional source of income. While many companies focus on hiring, we strive to empower individuals to think beyond traditional jobs.”
He highlighted the company’s flexible services, adding: “We offer online training programs and non-binding contracts, allowing Emiratis to gain practical experience in the field easily.”
“Al Rawad,” with 11 years of experience in the real estate industry, has also offered managerial roles in marketing, public relations, and other sectors.
Ismail Al Hammadi, owner of “Al Rawad,” said: “This is our second participation in this event, and our focus is on providing top job opportunities for Emiratis in all areas related to real estate.”
Aradat has also expanded its emiratization program. Alia Al Falasi, the company’s emiratization officer, said, “We are happy to participate in this event again and offer opportunities in marketing, hospitality, and other important areas.”
Young people’s enthusiasm to enter the real estate sector The event also witnessed the presence of enthusiastic young Emiratis seeking to enter the world of real estate. Hazza Al Yamahi, 19, a student at ADNOC Technical Academy, said: “I want to gain practical experience in the Dubai real estate market. This is an area I am interested in and eager to explore further.”
Zayed University graduates, Shahed bin Haidar and Fawagi Al Shaikh, also attended the event hoping to find positions in real estate-related interior design.
Extensive cooperation to support Emiratis The one-day event was hosted by the Dubai Land Department and organized in collaboration with the Emirati Human Resources Development Council, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization, and the Council for the Competitiveness of Emirati Talent (Nafis).
With a growing focus on Emiratization and the development of specialized skills, the launch of the real estate degree program and efforts to create employment is expected to play a key role in shaping the professional future of Emirati citizens in this industry.
